Web sites

EDMODO

Founded in Chicago, Illinois, when two school district employees set out to bridge the gap between how students live their lives and how they learn in school, Edmodo was created to bring education into a 21st century environment.

Today, Edmodo is based in San Mateo, California. Thanks to those who guided and supported us in the beginning, we're now the number one K-12 social learning network in the rld, dedicated to connecting all learners with the people and resources they need to reach their full potential.

PIXLR

Pixlr combines image design and paint tools with photo editing and adjustment features more convincingly than any other online image editing program. Whether creating an image carte-blanche, layering one image over another or using a variety of filters, effects and level adjustments to transform photographs, Pixlr is equally capable of producing results on par with many of its software-based counterparts. Yet, despite its deep feature-set, Pixlr remains facile, intuitive and, most importantly, user-friendly.

GOOGLE DRIVE

What started as a free online alternative to Microsoft Office has become one of the most impressive cloud-based storage and syncing servicesfor creating, editing, saving, and collaborating on documents. Google Drive (free) has long impressed me in just how far it goes toward helping people create and edit files, whether you're working solo or with a team. A recent update makes this excellent productivity tool better looking. And it's all free.

MICROSOFT OFFICE

Microsoft's Word, Excel and Powerpoint offer familiar powerful tools to create, write, and present.  These traditional programs increase productivity in the classroom and beyond.

PBSKids
is a simple, safe first online experience for elementary school kids who are learning basic skills and already know many of the characters featured here from popular PBS shows such as Sesame Street and Curious George will enjoy playing games with their television friends.

ABCya

ABCYa! is an educational games website that organizes games by grade level (K-5) and subject categories, including letters, numbers, holiday games, and more.

Room Recess

RoomRecess.com is dedicated to providing children with free educational games. Our games reinforce important skills that are vital to elementary students and their learning process. RoomRecess.com was developed entirely by an elementary school teacher with the goal of reinforcing fundamental learning concepts in math, reading, spelling, language arts, and basic problem solving.

Kahoot

A compelling and oh-so-easy way to engage kids in pre- and formative-assessment activities.

Arcademic Skill Builders

Arcademic Skill Builders are online educational video games that offer a powerful approach to learning basic math, language arts, vocabulary, and thinking skills.

Our goal is to make aspects of classroom instruction as effective in creating persistence and involvement as observed in video game players. Our games are a result of blending video game features into instructional research in order to achieve a high rate of student learning through increased time-on-task and engagement.
